As a competition rookie, I never expected to earn a medal. When the 4-minute freestyle category started, I remember sitting in the cockpit just seconds before the take-off thinking to myself "You know what, just go up and enjoy the flight and forget about the judges."  In the end, that’s exactly what I did.

I flew my sequence, pulled out maneuvers from my experience as a stunt pilot, and improvised as much as possible. Somehow everything happened by itself and once back on the ground, I could not believe what had just happened:
I had become the European Freestyle Aerobatic Champion.
