At the Matterhorn, the goal is usually to go up. But my friend Ueli Geganschatz and I were determined to do exactly the opposite. We were the first two people to attempt a BASE jump from the most famous mountain in the Alps.

In terms of its seriousness and the conditions we had to face,
I can now admit that what we did was really on the edge. The Matterhorn will never become a tourist jump. I think I stepped over my personal limits that day and I do not want to go there again. Life is too beautiful!
