Hannes Arch burst onto the Red Bull Air Race scene in emphatic fashion at the start of the 2007 season. A stunning fourth place in only his second race in the Series in Rio de Janeiro defied his rookie status and proved that he is more than capable of mixing it with the best acrobatic pilots in the world.
With his strong showing in the former Brazilian capital Arch sent out a strong message to the competition that he would certainly be one to watch in the near future. Despite failing to repeat this lightning performance on race day in the remaining Air Races of the 2007 season, Arch often showed glimpses of his undeniable talent during the training and qualifying sessions. The season finale in Perth (AUS) provided a further highlight as the rookie from Austria secured another place among the top ten, finishing ninth.
All in all a debut season with several highlights and plenty to learn from – the perfect platform for the charismatic Austrian pilot's irresistible rise to the top.
