The international German Motorcycle Championships (IDM) was celebrating its debut on the Red Bull Ring from Friday the 19th to Sunday the 21st of August. While Andy Meklau competed in his last race of his career, the real highlight was the Battle of Champions on Sunday, the 21st of August. There, Andy Meklau on his motorcycle was competing against skijump superstar Thomas Morgenstern in a Formula car and flying ace Hannes Arch in his Edge 540. With the three top athletes from different categories and on different vehicles, the big question was who would take the win on the Red Bull Ring.
It was a tight race, with only a few meters separating all of them crossing the finish line. Meklau came in first, followed by Arch and Morgenstern in third.
