Rough conditions in Russia

Hannes recently returned from a two-day trip to Russia where he performed an Air Race exhibition show in St.Petersburg. After a disappointing training day on Friday the 20th, where strong winds and high waves kept the crew from assembling the complete race track, it was uncertain whether the show would go on. But the next day, the wind died down enough to allow Hannes and fellow Air Race pilot Sergei Rachmanin to fly an impressive show, making several passes through the track in front of a crowd of over 10,000 spectators, which included politicians, military officials and local event organizers. The day proved to be a big success as immediately following the show, local officials asked if they could bring the Air Race to St. Petersburg – we will see in 2008!
