Pylon hit and 10 seconds
Hannes missed the quarter final because he had a 10 second penalty in the elimination round due to his pylon hit. The impressive scenery with the 4th Red Bull Air Race in Istanbul contributed greatly to the fact that Hannes has flown so well in training and qualification. βI like this track here in Istanbul, itβs a fast one and I could always find a good rhythm.β His positive approach to racing and the experience he gained till now flying in between the pylons brought him fast training times, always in between the best 5 pilots. In the qualification he did the 5th place and could even do the fastest split times in the βQuattroβ section, a technically very difficult part of the track. Next task is to fly fast at the right moment during the next race. Hannes was a little nervous and did not have the experience to deal properly with the presure. After all, he is still a rookie, and this was his 4th race ever β at the end Hannes is happy with his overall result. The next race is in Interlaken, Switzerland and Hannes is looking forward to the race in Switzerland, the place where he spent 10 years of his life BASE jumping and paragliding and the place where he started to fly aerobatics. Hannes also flew a winning freestyle performance at his last European Aerobatic Championship. Hannes is positive and full of motivation: the show will go on!
